Nickle Mac OS
This is very strange, so bear with me. I have an iMac which is the computer with which I sync my iPhone, iTunes, Apps, and so on. I also have a MacBook. OS 10.5.8 on both.
When I first tried tethering through USB on my MacBook, it worked perfectly (and saved me in a real jam).
But now I cannot get it to tether to the MacBook through USB. When it is plugged into my MacBook, the blue 'internet tethering' bar shows up on the iPhone, but in my Network preferences on the MacBook, it just says 'Cable Unplugged' for both USB ports. I restart and reset, I unplug and plug back in, zap PRAM, etc. But it never changes. The iPhone thinks it's tethered, but the MB doesn't. Aaargh!
And when I plug it into the iMac to sync it, it tethers perfectly - same USB cable.
The MacBook will tether using Bluetooth.
