The kids are back in school (or studying virtually), pumpkin spice is back on the menu, and the Dallas Cowboys are back on Sundays – it’s fall in Frisco! To help you kick off the season, we’ve once again rounded up the best fall-themed activities that Frisco has to offer.
Things look a little different this year, as many of your seasonal traditions have either canceled or moved to a virtual format.
Nevertheless, whether you’re looking for pumpkin patches, trick-or-treating events, or fun runs, there’s still something for everyone. Grab your PSL and your coziest sweater, and start planning your fall season! Fall Festivals and Pumpkin Patches
Shades of Green Garden Center Pumpkin Painting
September 18 – October 31
Many seasonal activities are canceled this year, including the annual Fall Festival at Shades of Green. Still, they’d like to provide families a chance to have an Autumn experience while adhering to safety guidelines. Not only is the event FREE, but pumpkins and supplies will be supplies. Ages 10 and under, Fridays and Saturdays: 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm.
Big Orange Pumpkin Farm
September 26 – November 25, 2020, Preston Trail Farms
This North Texas tradition offers visitors fall fun and a taste of country life. Kids will be delighted by rows of pumpkins growing right on the vine, hay bales to climb on, and a petting farm with more than 50 lively animals. Other attractions include a hayride, farm train, and a 6 ft high hay maze.
Frisco Fresh Market Family Funtober Fest
October 3-4
Enjoy exploring the fresh produce and local vendors at Frisco Fresh Market, plus a great variety of fall activities for kids. The event will feature fun treats, kid-friendly inflatables, games, interactive classes, and more!
Petting Zoo Fun at FFM
Sunday, October 18, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Play with mini goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, a mini cow, a mini donkey, a mini horse, and a piggy, among many other animals! Entry is $5 a person/child entering the enclosure. CASH ONLY – you’ll pay just before entering.
Pumpkins on the Prairie
October 17 – October 31
Pumpkins on the Prairie has been a beloved tradition in the Frisco area for over 15 years. Each year neighbors come from miles around to share in the joy that a day outside in the fall weather brings to people of all ages! Families come for pictures, to find that perfect pumpkin, and just to be together.
First Frisco UMC Pumpkin Patch
October 1 – October 31, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
An annual tradition, the First Frisco United Methodist Church pumpkin patch helps to fund youth mission trips. Find pumpkins of all shapes and sizes!
The Art of the Pumpkin
September 19 – November 1
While Frisco has a lot to enjoy, those new to the area should know that Autumn at the Arboretum is one of Dallas’ Favorite Fall Traditions! “The Art of the Pumpkin” features breathtaking colors of fall including 150,000 autumn flowers accented by pumpkins, gourds, and squash.
Trick or Treating Costume Events
Trunk or Treat at the Frisco Rail Yard – UPDATE: This event has been CANCELED.

It’s fall and the Frisco Rail Yard wants to celebrate with a family fun TRUNK or TREAT! Enjoy food trucks, games, trick or treating, live music, local vendors, costume contest, and more!
My Gym’s 12th Annual Halloween Party
October 16 and October 23
Calling all little monsters! My Gym is hosting socially-distanced Halloween-themed games, songs, dances, puppet shows, My Gym activities, and so much more. With reduced capacity restrictions spaces are more limited than before (and sell out every year!), so reserve a space TODAY! (Please make sure that all costumes are safe for climbing equipment, running, jumping, costume parades, and all the other fun!)
Trick or Treat at Fire Safety Town
October 23, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Come in costume for this Frisco favorite. Children 5th grade and under can enjoy exploring the fire truck, the safety house, and of course trick or treating in the little village. This popular event draws big crowds so be prepared for off-site parking and a wait in line. Be sure to check the website for the current status of this event closer to the date – it might be canceled.
FRAKESenstein Manor IV
October 30, 7:00 pm, Industrial Cigar Co.
Join Industrial Cigar Co. for the 4th annual ICC Halloween Costume Party. Costume contest, food, and plenty-o-drink. It’s a Frakes-enstein event (in honor of the Owners, the Frakes family!) Open to the public, but tickets are required and space is limited.
Boo Bash Halloween Celebration

BOO BASH! Ninja Nation is going to have a crazy fun party. Wear your costume (no face paint please and wear tennis shoes). Come do some Ninja and play fun games for prizes and candy.
Spooky Science

Join UT Southwestern Medical Center for a morning of spine-tingling fun. Guests of all ages can tour our labs and learn about glowing brain cells and worms, practice some haunted science at home and observe some skeleton yoga! Don’t forget to wear your Halloween costume for our virtual Halloween parade!
Premier Martial Arts’ Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat

Enjoy a fun free event in the parking lot of IM=X Pilates (5353 Independence Pkwy Suite 400, Frisco, TX 75035). Families can drive through the parking lot and visit several fun stations owned by local businesses – they’ll have CANDY for you! Visit them all to be entered in a raffle for a grand prize!
Trick or Treat with The Rail District

Calling all ghosts and goblins! Make your way to Frisco’s Rail District on Halloween afternoon. Many of the downtown merchants will have TREATS for our little visitors!
Spooky Science at Sci-Tech

Trick or treat at Sci-Tech on Halloween anytime from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm. They’ll have Spooky Scary Science hands-on activities, WOW Combustion Fire shows (just don’t tell Frankenstein’s monster!), a costume parade, and a contest with non-candy prizes!
Inaugural NTPA Trunk-or-Treat

Come out for the Inaugural North Texas Performing Arts Trunk-or-Treat! Enjoy our Halloween festivities in a socially-distanced, safe way by joining the drive-through Trunk-or-Treat! Starting October 29 and running for three consecutive nights, Shudder will produce an immersive experience that combines three Halloween feature films with live-action elements and performers to create a horror-film-meets-haunted-house-style attraction.

Shawnee Trail Cowboy Day

The premier Dallas holiday gingerbread decorating event has made its way up to Frisco! The 2020 Cookies and Castles event will be a drive-through and pick up event so you can take the fun home to enjoy with family and friends. Registration Deadline: November 20.
North Texas Turkey Trot

Run first! Eat later. Earn your Thanksgiving feast while supporting a great cause at the annual North Texas Turkey Trot, benefitting the Miracle League of Frisco, a sports organization for special needs children. The 2020 virtual Turkey Trot consists of a 5K, 10K, 1-mile or whatever distance you would like. They will ship the participant shirt, running buff, and bib right to you.
